“The Hardest Part of Being Black is Dying Only Once”

Faculty Talk with Kimberly Bain

About the Event

Date

Mar 17, 2021, 12 – 1pm

Location

Online

What do we do with the question of time and Blackness? Again and again, it seems that Black people never have enough time. When Black people are, always, out of time, how do we find spaces to have time enough—to live, to breathe, to die only once?

Join us for this mid-day talk with Dr. Kimberly Bain as she poses these questions and shares her latest research within the context of the exhibitions Jibade-Khalil Huffman: Now That I Can Dance and Jibade-Khalil Huffman and ariella tai: Index, both on view through March 26, 2021.

TUAG faculty talks provide an opportunity for Tufts faculty to share their research as a conversation-starter – in connection with or as a counterpoint to – current exhibitions.
